WHAT IS THE PPG?
We are a group of patients who meet with members of the practice staff and doctors to discuss ways of offering the best service to patients.
As patient representatives we aim to consist of a wide cross-section of our surgery patient list.
We are the voice of and have an important role to play in helping patients have a say in the way services are delivered to them.
We do not get involved in any medical matters or concerns about treatment.
WHAT DO WE DO?
The NHS is changing fast and there are constant varying demands being placed on GP services.
We are a sounding board for helping to keep what is good, working well and we wish to preserve.
WE ALSO
- Give opinions on current services and suggest new ones.
- Give feedback to the practice staff about patients’ experiences so that changes may be made if needed.
- Suggest changes and updates to the website.
- Look at ways to improve communication and information sharing between the Practice and patients.
- Contribute to newsletters the Practice produces.
- Give an opinion on the condition and the way the building and car park work from patients’ perspectives.
- Volunteer at the seasonal vaccination clinics including helping to manage the car park.
- Be involved in health promotion activities at the practice.
WHEN AND HOW DO WE MEET?
In person at the surgery, usually every 4-6 weeks. Meetings take place in the late afternoon and are informal where everyone is welcome to make a contribution.
