We have formed a Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Balmore Park Surgery.  Currently the Group has 23 members consisting of 12 women and 11 men with an age group mix from 41 - 81.  The Group consists of a cross section of our patient list with a Chairman, Vice Chair and Secretary.  Meetings are held quarterly on a Wednesday evening at the Practice.

The Group is free to identify its own priorities for discussion and liaison with the practice team.

The aims of the PPG are:

  • Play a key role in raising awareness of the views and concerns of other patients ensuring these are fed back to the Practice
  • Learn more about how the Practice functions and the roles of individual staff
  • Learn more about the proposed changes and improvements to local healthcare

The Group assists the practice in discussing and preparing appropriate questions for our patient surveys.

In addition the Group is in communication with the North & West Reading Commissioning Group of which Balmore Park Surgery is a member.  The role of the Group is to communicate health related decisions at commissioning level to our patients.

If you wish to sign up to our PPG, please ask for a sign up form at reception, or contact Eiliis McCarthy, Practice Manager.
