How Do I... Make An Appointment?
All consultations are by appointment, made either in person or by telephoning 0118 947 1455 during surgery hours. We endeavour to see our patients within one or two working days. If you feel that you require urgent medical attention, arrangements will be made for you to be seen on the same day, usually at the end of normal surgery times, although you may not be seen by your own doctor. Sick children will always be seen as soon as possible if brought to the surgery (but telephone first). If you are in doubt whether you should bring your child out, please ring for advice. For on-line bookings patients will initially need to request a password from reception. Once you have received your password, log on to: https://access.e-mis.co.uk and click on Book your GP appointment online and follow the on-screen instructions.

How Do I... Obtain Telephone Advice?
- To speak to your doctor call: 0118 947 1455
- For hospital referral / appointment enquiries (9.00am - 4.30pm) call: 0118 918 7895
- For test results (after 11.00am) call: 0118 947 1455
All patients' records on file or computer are confidential. In order to maintain this, results will only be given to patients themselves or parents of minors, if appropriate, when satisfactory proof of identity has been obtained by the receptionist. You should allow at least four days for blood and urine test results, ten days for x-rays and three to six weeks for cervical smear tests.
It is not always necessary to see your GP. If you have a problem that you feel can be dealt with by telephone, please inform the receptionist who will ask the doctor to ring you back.
The partners believe in personal attention and continuity of care and prefer you to see your own doctor whenever possible. When your own GP is away you may see any of the other doctors working in the practice if you are unable to wait for your own doctor's return. We try to run to time as far as possible, but please remember that some consultations inevitably run over time and that often the doctor is interrupted by telephone calls or emergency visits. However, we aim to keep delays to a minimum and would wish to know if you have been waiting more than 30 minutes beyond your booked appointment time. If there is a patient with an emergency or serious problem, we will give them priority. To keep surgeries running as smoothly as possible please bear in mind the following points:
- Be punctual.
- Cancel appointments in good time - someone else may be in need.
- One appointment is for one patient.
How Do I... Obtain A Home Visit?
Please do not ask the doctor to call unless the patient is genuinely too ill or disabled to come to the surgery.
Home visits take the doctor a great deal more time and sometimes full examinations and tests cannot be done in the home.
If you do need a home visit, please telephone the surgery before 10.30am if possible.
Please let us know if the problem is urgent and we will arrange for the doctor to speak to you.
